About this place
For those looking to ease into the quiet of the night with a drink in hand, Caprice (カプリス), set on the second floor of a building in Monzen-nakacho, is a reliable choice. A broad array of bottles lines the back bar, covering hard liquors like Scotch and bourbon as well as drinks ranging from classic cocktails to fruit-forward serves.
Whisky lovers have plenty to choose from, spanning smoky Islay single malts like Ardbeg and Laphroaig to the floral notes of The Macallan, alongside Japanese whiskies such as Hakushu, Yamazaki, and Taketsuru. They can be enjoyed neat or on the rocks, or served as a highball to bring out their aromas in a light, refreshing pour.
Cocktails are equally well-represented, featuring creations built on crisp citrus Cointreau, the refreshing balance of ginger ale and beer in a Shandygaff, and rum-based Mojitos. With Japanese-flavored liqueurs such as matcha, azuki red bean, and beni-shiso (red perilla), alongside frozen cocktails, there is plenty of variety to match whatever mood strikes as you order your next round.
Open from 7:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. with table service, the bar carries a calm atmosphere where solo drinkers can comfortably relax without hesitation. Credit cards are accepted, making it an easy and pleasant second stop to cap off an evening after dining around Monzen-nakacho.
